The arrests took place around 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, during the execution of a search warrants at five Evolve Smoke Shops in Nassau County.
During the search, large quantities of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) were recovered, along with MDMA, heroin and cash, said the Nassau County Police.
The following people were arrested:
- Mohamed Elfeky, age 31, of Huntington Station
- Hardik Sureshbhai Patel, age 24, of Mineola
- Rashmin S. Patel, age 27, of Hauppauge
- Mauleshkumar R. Patel, age 36, Fresh Meadows
- Manpreet Walia, age 25, of Bethpage
- Mahendrakumar V. Patel, age 36, of Flushing
Elfeky was charged with:
- Criminal sale of a controlled substance fifth-degree
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance seventh-degree, third-degree, and fifth-degree
The rest of the men were charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
All six will be arraigned on Friday, March 11, in Hempstead.
